Couple of 2010 thoughts
(Just found this in my drafts folder)
Bob Hazlett is assembling predictions in 140. In thinking of a submission, I shared one involving the foundation of Google Voice apps wherein:
Google will provide free phones in exchange for sending you ads based on your voice conversation. So, you’re letting Google technology listen to your phone calls. Google will provide proof that it’s not actually saving the data, but … For those contracted with a current provider, there’d be a plan to opt-in for Google paying part of your monthly service fees to your current provider.
The paradigm of phone usage will expand further into traditionally non-voice areas. We think phonecall to talk. What if we pressed 1 for Web, 2 for Video overview, 3 for accounting, 4 for directions, 5 for telephone, etc…
In a recent brainstorm, I brushed the notion of the Wave being part of the neural society. That being one where as soon as you conceived a thought, you shared it. Other’s instant reactions shared back. Wave can be such a network, and if we add voice participation to Wave, the ability to participate is expanded.
